Okay, I've decided to finally mention this here, I wrote a fic for the
femgenficathon. I can't remember how to do wordy links so I won't but it's:
Title: Summers at the Cottage
Author:
dora_the_nymph
Rating: PG
Warnings: None.
Prompt: 14. The smells alone would intoxicate the most rigid of people: night-blooming jasmine, the tang of salt air, and the odd sandy smell after a driving rain. Overhead, creamy, imposing clouds sailed across brilliant blue skies, and the ocean--what colors: cobalt-blue, emerald-green, turquoise-blue, and light-hazel bands of color right next to one another.--Rita Mae Brown (It lead to the inspiration, but only vaguely).
Notes: Huge thanks to rayvyn2k for the spectactular beta job.
Summary: When Narcissa was five her family stayed at the beach for the first time. As she got older and her sisters went to school things changed, but at the beach most things stayed the same.
Disclaimer: These characters and some settings belong to JKR.
Words: 2441

And, now for the real reason I bothered to mention it.
livii has reccommended it on
crack_broom. I am in happy bouncy awe.
Why she says you should read it: "A lovely look at the Black sisters, through the eyes of a young Narcissa. The story is told in snapshots, advancing the plot two years at a time, moving forward yet keeping an interesting continuity throughout. It also ties in canon in wonderful ways, including a scenario wherein Regulus gets his first look inside That Cave. It's a simple story, but pleasant and satisfying, and compared to most of the other stories I recommended this month, it ends my recs on a quiet note, and seemed ideal for the end of August, and summer."
And I'll put this up on Pureblood and Lumos when I can.
