I have fully given in - I have now watched every episode of Merlin, it is really awesome. I always enjoyed it as a casual viewer, but it much better with all the bits filled in.
I really enjoyed the most recent episode (and I liked the lady of the lake one, a lot!). I think that Gwen/Arthur has actually been played quite nicely - there has been some level of build up (it was a bit sudden when it first appeared bit it could have been a lot worse).
I am amused that no one thought that the guy spontaneously sprouting butterflys was using magic.
I really like Gwen, she is awesomesauce.
Morgana's development will be really interesting. She has fluctuated quite a bit but I think within a reasonable range.
So, yes. Overall, there is lots of awesome to be found in Merlin ( even the bits other people don't like). I am glad I finally got around to watching it!
