I've been attempting to read posts and answer thoughtfully and coherently, but I have a problem.

It's OMG so good. All the reviews I'm now seeing are ripping it to pieces and it's unjustified in my opion :D

From the (admittedly) few I've read, it strikes me as "These effects guys did LOTR but Narnia isn't Middle Earth so therefore it sucks and your mom wears combat boots."

It's very "apples suck cuz they're not oranges"-type thinking to me.

There were some very LotR esque type shots and the battle was shot very similarly to Lot and of course the scenery was still the same. But some of the reviews were going OMG THERE'S RELIGIOUS PARALLELS - well duh and it could have been been a lot more heavy handed and it's for little kids -and you're surprised by what exactly?

I think they're trying to make a story out of nothing.

You know, there was a battle scene that looked straight form LotR to me, and you could tell it was the same effects. But I adore Narnia and this adaptation, so I reccommend seeing it if you are a Narnia fan, or just like a good film.
